Policies

Please take a moment to review our building policies. This page should cover any questions you might have before visiting our facility.

Please do not bring food and or beverages into the Arena, at any time except for medical purposes. Guests must dispose of the unauthorized items prior to entrance into Arena. Guests with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should contact us at 606-444-5445.

 

Arena Policies

Prohibited Items
The following items are not permitted in Appalachian Wireless Arena by guests:

  • No bags larger than 13 x 15 x 6.

  • Umbrellas.

  • Cans, bottles, coolers or other similar containers Video cameras or audio recorders

  • Laser pens or laser products Air horns or noise makers

  • Weapons of any kind (this includes pocket knives)

  • Professional Cameras (Please note: Some shows do not allow cameras of any kind.)

  • Video Cameras

  • Any other item deemed unacceptable by Appalachian Wireless Arena management.

 

In the event that items are revealed during a search, the guest(s) will be permitted to return to their vehicle with the item or they can dispose of the item. Appalachian Wireless Arena will not safeguard any personal belongings or items of any type. Cameras
Artist request~ Use of video cameras is prohibited within Appalachian Wireless Arena. Cameras with no flash are permitted for certain family events, depending on the show. Cameras and recording devices are generally not permitted for special events. For more information please contact 606-444-5500. 

Exit and No Re-Entry Policy
Exiting and re-entering the building with the same ticket is not permitted. Exceptions are only made in the case of medical situations and emergencies. Guests with medical emergencies or other guests who want to leave and then return to the building should be directed to the Guest Services Desk in the Main Street Lobby. 

Guest Conduct
The following behavior or activities are grounds for eviction from Appalachian Wireless Arena:

  • Use of profanity or unacceptable language of any type.

  • Possession of illegal or unauthorized items inside Appalachian Wireless Arena.

  • Unacceptable or indecent dress.

  • Failure to obey or follow Appalachian Wireless Arena smoking policies. We are a No Tobacco allowed facility.

  • Use of illegal substances or drugs.

  • Public drunkenness.

  • Entering or attempting to enter any "off limits" areas such as playing surface, stage area, backstage or restroom of the opposite sex.

  • Participating in a fight.Verbally abusing, threatening or intimidating other guests or arena employees.

  • The throwing of any objects or projectiles in seating areas, from balconies, ramps, stairwells or any other areas.

Lost and Found
Appalachian Wireless Arena provides lost and found services for guests in the Business Office located in the Main Street Lobby. Any items that are not claimed at the end of an event will be turned in at the Guest Services Desk. Items turned into Lost and Found can be claimed during regular business hours Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Appalachian Wireless Arena is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Deadly weapons policy
This facility is located in a School Zone as defined by the Gun Free School Zone Act of 1990 as contained in 18 U.S.C. adopted November 29, 1990 (the Act) and this facility is also regularly used by the Board of Education for school activities. All persons are prohibited from possessing firearms and other deadly weapons within a School Zone or other property (School Property) used or operated by any Board of Education or School unless such possession is authorized by exceptions in the Act. (K.R.S. 527.070). Violation of either federal law or state law prohibiting deadly weapons in a School Zone or School Property may subject to an individual to criminal sanctions.

Police Officers are obligated to enforce State and Federal laws and the City of Pikeville is encouraged by federal law to post warnings of the prohibition of the possession of firearms and other deadly weapons in a School Zones. The Board of Education has requested that the City of Pikeville post its properties subject to the schools use of the prohibitions of deadly weapons on the premises.

 

For the reasons cited above, firearms and other deadly or dangerous weapons are strictly prohibited on this premise.

 

Service Pets
No pets or animals are allowed in Appalachian Wireless Arena with the exception of service animals. 

Smoking
Appalachian Wireless Arena is a smoke-free facility. Smoking will only be allowed on the designated outdoor smoking balconies location at sections 202, 205, 222 and 219 on the main concourse. 

Ticket Policies

 

Will Call Policy
Tickets may be picked up at the Will Call window of Appalachian Wireless Arena Box Office located on Huffman Avenue. Photo identification is required to pick up tickets. 

Children's Ticket Policy
Children ages 2 and over are required to have a ticket for admission, with the exception of select children's shows that require tickets for all children age 1 and over. You must have a ticket if you occupy a seat. 

Lost or Stolen Ticket Policy
Lost tickets will not be replaced by Appalachian Wireless Arena. If tickets are stolen, guests must provide proof of purchase and a police report to Appalachian Wireless Arena Box Office. New tickets will be printed.

Security Policy

In response to the need for heightened security procedures, Appalachian Wireless Arena has implemented the following policies to ensure a safe, enjoyable event experience for all guests.

Parking Around Appalachian Wireless Arena
Parking is available in the downtown parking garage located at the corner of Hambley Blvd. and Huffman Avenue.
Curbside parking will be allowed as marked by the City of Pikeville.
Passenger pick-up and drop-off is contained to the corner of Huffman Avenue at our Box Office Entrance and Main Street Plaza.


Due to the fact that these additional security measures may cause slight delays, fans are encouraged to arrive early to allow adequate time to enter the building.

Guest Services

 

Arena features:

ATMs
Community Trust Bank money access machines are available on the main concourse beside Appalachian Wireless Arena Box office located on Huffman Avenue. 

 

Main Street Guest Services Desk
Our Guest Services staff is ready and eager to assist with any needs during an event at Appalachian Wireless Arena. The Main Street Guest Services Desk is located in the Main Street Lobby on the main concourse level.

Elevators/Stairways
The main elevator is located in the Main Street Lobby. An emergency stairway exit is located near section 223 of the main concourse. In addition to this emergency exits are also located at the Riverfill Entrance, Box Office location and our Main Street Entrance. Emergency Exits are located at all four corners of the building on our main concourse level.

Family Restrooms/Diaper Changing Stations
Appalachian Wireless Arena offers family restrooms in the main concourse near our box office location. These facilities have larger private restrooms and changing tables.

First Aid
The City of Pikeville provides first aid and paramedic services for all public events at Appalachian Wireless Arena. First-aid rooms are located on the main concourse under Section 215.

Lost and Found
Appalachian Wireless Arena provides lost and found services for guests at the Main Street Guest Services desk located in the Main Street Lobby on the main concourse level. Items that are turned in to Lost & Found can be claimed during regular business hours at the arena's administrative offices, located in the Main Street Lobby.

Meeting Facilities and Conference Areas
Appalachian Wireless Arena has a ballroom and boardroom available for private meetings, conferences or smaller functions. For more information, please call (606) 444-5500.
